connections

still so busy at work, but i need a small break this morning. i've only been here for an hour, but i feel like i've been working for 12! currently, Chompy is ranting and raving about something i don't know or care about.... i've learned with her to just say "uh-huh" from the other side of the room every now and again, and she's perfectly fine with that. i have never known someone until now to talk ALL DAY about nothing.

i am playing hookey from church tonight, and spending the evening with a girlfriend of mine. we are going to run errands, eat dinner, and even catch a movie. yes, i have a date. HAHA. we used to live together, (until i moved out so as not to avoid another lease signing because i was planning on living with boy in one of the houses we were looking at together... but i'm not bitter....really....) and people referred to the other one as "your wife." we commuted to work together, we picked each other up from the airports, on free evenings we were with each other even though we lived together, etc. etc. i miss that. people always warn you about living with a friend -- that it will ruin your friendship, but alas -- we're still very close. YAY. don't get me wrong, we had our moments. a few of them. but the animosity never lasted more than a few days. usually it was because a boy entered the picture. hehe. anyway, you know those friends you just love no matter what? she is one of those. the day i met her, we just connected and have been friends ever since!

speaking of connecting with someone..... don't you think that's weird? that every now and again, you come across someone that just feels like "home." conversation is effortless and it feels like you've known them your entire life. you finish each others sentences. you know the other's train of thought. it's like you were friends or lovers in another lifetime. this has happened to me very few times in my life, and it's happened once again very recently .... and people -- to me, this a piece of the good stuff in this thing we call life.

happy wednesday!
