second chance?

i got a phone call last night from a guy (whom i dated very briefly but haven't seen in quite a while) asking me to come meet him for happy hour. he has been calling for the last couple of weeks, but i had yet to meet up with him. i politely declined again, but he insisted i come for just a little while so we could "talk." hmmmmm...... he sparked some curiousity in me with that statement, so of course i went. he was there with several people, and for the first hour or so we just sat around and talked and laughed. his friends are pretty great and they all like me, so it's always a good time. a couple of beers into the evening, we had a heart to heart. i spoke my mind, he agreed with most of what i said, and somehow he got me to agree to dinner date this weekend. how do you guys do that? i had no intention of going out on a date with him, after all -- how many chances should one give to another regarding dating? but with his smooth banter and his sincere tone -- he suckered me into it! well, the dark skin and the see-thru green eyes may have had a little to do with it...... :)
