the day after
well, it has come and gone. i won't be able to celebrate the existance of me for another year.
wait.
i am having a birthday party saturday. THE FUN LIVES ON!
yesterday was a pretty good day. all of my friends either called, or sent an email. some dropped by. some even SANG to me! i got a bouquet of my FAVORITE flowers in the whole world - Gerber Daisies - sent to me at work from someone i absolutely adore. how many girls out there love getting flowers?!? hello! i totally think they're a waste of money, but i would by lying straight to your face (er...your computer...) if i told you i didn't like receiving them. i stayed late last night, and i got a late delivery from george. you guys remember him -- first love, now has some gal preggo - yeah. he is religious about sending flowers on my birthday whether we're together or not. always red roses -one for every year of my life, and one white rose that i'm sure means something, but i have no idea what. nice gesture, but not as special as someone finding out what my favorites are and sending those. before 5:15. :-) so leaving yesterday, i totally looked like it was my birthday or something of that nature. carrying flowers, balloons, cards, and a carrot cake from Merrit's Bakery. mmmmmmmmmm.
in the midst of trying to carry all my stuff out at once, i left my cell phone sitting on my desk. O. MY. GOOOODNESS. i thought i was going to have a heart attack. i was outside of our office, waiting on the elevator, when i realized i was without my phone. the doors had shut and locked, and since i NEVER stay past 7 - i have no idea what the access code is. there i stood.... waiting on the slowest elevators in the world, arms full of goodies, almost paralyzed because i knew i would have to spend the rest of my BIRTHDAY evening without my phone. *sad music in background*
(so kal'el, THIS is why you got no return phone call. thank you for your persistance. i love you and will call you this evening.)
i got to work this morning and had texts and VM messages to retrieve and a little piece of my happy day yesterday lived on. hooray for the cell phone!
anyway, i didn't tie one on or anything last night. went to dinner with some friends, went home, talked with my sister for a while, and hit the sack. birthday celebration resumes this saturday evening.... there will be pictures to share. oh boy!
