hottie overload
i think if it had it my way though, i'd hook up with this guy. he is the prettiest man on the face of the planet to me. aaaaaaand he's latin. so if any of you look like this, or know someone who does -- let me know. :)
and since i'm moving to austin soon, maybe i'll run into everyone's favorite cowboy and we'll live happily ever after.
hey, a girl can dream can't she??

weekend fun
we drove down on saturday, checked into the hotel and started getting dressed for dinner. there were 10 of us at dinner, and we met up with the rest of the crew at the dance club. we happen to know the owner, so we had VIP access and a few tables reserved. there was already a huge line by the time we arrived, so it was nice to just float on by everyone. it's not what you know, it's who you know! we stayed put all evening, and really had a great time. being that it was nice outside- they opened the patio up. the club is on the 4th floor of the building, so the view is pretty great from the balcony. good times, good times. the bachelorette had a lot of fun which is the most important thing - and the rest of us did, too. there was dancing, cocktails, flirting, and even a little brawl. ah, nothing like hiting a girl square in the jaw for messing with one of your friends. what's great about it, is that we are all grown women - no one really expected the situation to turn into a girl version of The Contender. the whole situation was over in about 3 minutes, so it's not like we...er i mean, they... beat the crap out of each other. there were some words, there was one punch - and that was it. about an hour later, she was still trying to talk smack to me....er, i mean, my friend.... but by then it was just really funny that she would even think about coming back after being clocked in the face. ahhhh, good times.
we all got back to the hotel safely. well, except for two of the girls who decided it would be better to go home with random guys. we did what we could to convince them otherwise, but you can't really reason with a drunk, 29-year old, single woman. we all drive in 2's, so on sunday morning the wife and i got up and around, and headed out. we stopped in bricktown ( that's what they call part of downtown OKC) and had some lunch. made friends with the owner of the bar/restaurant and got hook-ups for 2 weeks from now when we go down there for a birthday party. again, it's not what you know - it's who you know. we drove back to t-town, and pretty much just chilled for the rest of the evening. we caught up on all of our t.v. and hit the sack. i'm so not happy that it's monday again. i wish i only worked 3 days a week. maybe i need to quit wanting to date a musician, and get on to dating a rich man. the only problem with that is usually the rich ones are old and i just can't do that. ugh.
anyway, happy monday.

new tunes
i have recently purchased a CD, and i am fairly positive that this will be my new favorite for a while. i initially bought it because one song is featured in the movie, "closer." when i first heard the song while watching the movie in the theatre - i made a mental note to at least buy the soundtrack. i have heard a little buzz about him, so i decided just to buy his CD - and i am so glad i did. the music is real - very emotional. the song featured in the movie is titled "the blower's daughter" and it seriously puts me in a trance. it is incredibly beautiful, and so raw and it's really quite sad. maybe it's not your type of music - but if you're curious- check it out. he has mp3's you can listen to online at his website. i need to date a musician in the worst way. ![]() |

better
thanks for your virtual hugs yesterday. i'm usually not a big whiner, but sometimes we just have rotten days, huh? i went to my parents house last night, ate a home-cooked meal, and spent the evening hanging out with my parents, my sister and her husband. nothin' like a little bit of QT with people you love and who love you to make life a little sweeter. to top it off, on my way home i was surfing through radio stations and found a great easy-listening station that was playing corny songs like linda ronstandt's "blue bayou." don't kid yourself - i sang along, and i sang loud. i got home, and headed to the workout room for a late night jog. i took a warm shower, read a few chapters of the book i'm reading, and went to sleep. this morning, i woke up feeling a lot better and realizing that there are certainly more important things to fret about. i am blessed beyond measure, and really should be thankful for the things i have as opposed to worrying about the small stuff. what's that saying?? "don't sweat petty things and don't pet sweaty things?" hehehe..... happy thursday..... |

ugh
i had one of the worst days i have ever had in my life yesterday. seems like when things start happening - they all happen at the same time. i guess the saying "when it rains, it pours" is popular for a reason. first of all, i pissed my best friend off (not on purpose) - and it's to the point where she's not speaking to me. it is miserable, and i'm hoping we can get though this quickly. my finances are in a mess. i spent my savings on my fender bender i had a couple of weeks ago, and now i'm struuuugling. i had a crap a$$ day at work yesterday, and my dog died. (ok, so i don't have a dog - but if i did, i'm sure he would've died yesterday. that is just the way my day was going.) i need a virtual hug from you guys.

miss USA???
home last night, watching my monday night t.v. that generally consists of fear factor and the bachelor. last night, the miss USA pageant was on, so we recorded that and only watched the highlights. these girls are so young! maybe i'm getting my pageants confused, but i thought they used to be a lot older? our Oklahoma girl was 18 and still IN HIGH SCHOOL. i thought maybe she was confused and thought she was at the miss teen usa. there is also no talent competition - whether there ever was, i have no idea. but i know miss america has one. what's the point of this pageant? if you are pretty, and can walk?? pffcct. yes, that's who i want representing the women of the USA. maybe it's because The Donald owns this one, and all he cares about is seeing the young girls prance around??
i can't believe i just wasted time ranting on a beauty pageant. |

oooh, that smell.... can you smell that smell?
this morning i left the house without grabbing some breakfast, so around 9:30 this morning - my tummy started growling. i love breakfast and generally prefer having breakfast over having lunch. there is a korean lady who has a snack shop across the street, so i decided to pay her a visit today. she is on the 8th floor, and when the elevators opened - i was hit with the smell of cooking bacon. i don't know about you, but i think this might be what heaven smells like in the mornings. i really don't have a lot today to write about, so i thought i'd list some other smells that i really like:
there are many more, but that's enough for now. do you have any to add to the list?? |

again, in honor of self-portrait day..... hottie scotty has designated today's theme be the "o" face. (even though he hasn't posted yet!) i still don't have my camera fixed, so i dug through my picture archives and this is the best i could do. ahhh....memories. this was in 2001 - i had short hair and was a lot more wild than i am these days.... enjoy! |
tu hablo espanol?
| last night we met up with a bunch of girlie friends to celebrate a belated birthday. we would've had planned it ON her birthday, however, she decided that for her birthday present - she was going to buy some new boobs. (brando, there's the occasional boob reference for ya!) anyway, fun was had and it was time for the mommies and wives to go home. NOT time to go home for the single ladies. that includes MOI. we headed on down the street to a "cooler" hangout and parked our behinds around a high-top table. there were only 3 of us - a brunette. a blonde. and a redhead. in a sports bar. oh, that is so money. gentleman, pick your flavor. at the table next to us, were 3 guys. one was way too-short but cute. one was tall, average looking, and seemed to be the quiet type. the other was an all-around hottie. after we had sat there for a while, hotpants turned around and said something to us. i have no idea what was said, i just knew that he was NOT from here. holy mother of Jesus, i am a sucker for acccents, so we invited them over. turns out they're from Macedonia or something and had very thick accents. throughout the evening, they would teach me phrases and i would repeat them as best as i could. the only thing i remember today is "dah." yes. i had that one down. .later in the evening, hotpants was looking around like he needed something. so me, being the observant one, said, "Que quieres?" my wife looked at me and said, "dude. they don't speak spanish." i thought everyone spoke spanish?? maybe i've just lived close to mexico for too long...... |

i got nothin.
| my system is down here at work, so that means i really couldn't do any work even if i wanted to. most everything i do goes through our software programs. so for the last two hours, i have been surfing blogs, eating breakfast, and listening to Ray Lamontagne. have you heard this guy? great, great music. anyway, i got nothin today really. i came home last night after work and watched the shows i had recorded on the DVR. american idol was disappointing. it was show tunes night, and every single one of the contestants sang some sort of ballad. ugh. zzzzzzzzzzz. show tunes night should've been really fun, instead it was sappy cheesy slow song night. constantine sang "my funny valentine" and creeped out the millions watching the show. every last one of them. he is creepy weird guy, and i pray he doesn't last too much longer. also recorded the new series "the office." pretty funny....i'll be adding that to my list of weekly watches for sure. fear factor was pretty good, and it didn't disappoint when it got to the food section. i never fail to gag while watching this, and most times i have to turn away from the t.v. if i were ever on fear factor, i don't think anything would phase me until i got to the eating part. i just couldn't do it. on this particular episode, they had to take shots of blended up maggots, stink beetles, rotten fly eggs, and some other really gross stuff. *gag* and yet, i continue to watch it week by week. :) |

second chance?
| i got a phone call last night from a guy (whom i dated very briefly but haven't seen in quite a while) asking me to come meet him for happy hour. he has been calling for the last couple of weeks, but i had yet to meet up with him. i politely declined again, but he insisted i come for just a little while so we could "talk." hmmmmm...... he sparked some curiousity in me with that statement, so of course i went. he was there with several people, and for the first hour or so we just sat around and talked and laughed. his friends are pretty great and they all like me, so it's always a good time. a couple of beers into the evening, we had a heart to heart. i spoke my mind, he agreed with most of what i said, and somehow he got me to agree to dinner date this weekend. how do you guys do that? i had no intention of going out on a date with him, after all -- how many chances should one give to another regarding dating? but with his smooth banter and his sincere tone -- he suckered me into it! well, the dark skin and the see-thru green eyes may have had a little to do with it...... :) |

highlights
went to dinner saturday night with the wife, and did something completely out of character for me. i complained to the manager about the service that was received. i can understand bad service with a good attitude, or even great service with a horrible attitude -- but a bad attitiude and horrible service doesn't make a good combination. a heated conversation later, i walked out of the restaurant with $100 in gift certificates. nice, eh?
my cable box didn't automatically change time, so the DVR didn't record The Contender or Desperate Housewives last night. me = not happy.
bought a total of 7 new pairs of flip flops this weekend. yeah, 7. how ridiculous is that??
i didn't go to church at all on sunday, and my mom called me out on it. i'm 26m and my mom still calls to see if i went to church or not.
rented Vanity Fair and really hated it. i was so disappointed, but even so - i sat through the whole thing. why? because i feel compelled to watch the entire movie, even if i'm not really enjoying it.
ran into a good friend of mine saturday night, and proceeded to tell him that although i like the girl he is dating, i certainly don't like her for him. guess what --- they're engaged?? whoops.
happy monday.
